Our Background

Jacob Douglas Matthews is my hero and to me a Veteran. Even though he never served in the United States military. He came from Heaven with a mission. His Mission was to give his life and Freedom up so that I might be saved from the Destruction that I was putting myself through. In the same way that everyone who joins our military. We give up our freedom so that others can have their freedom.

Let me tell you about Jacob. He was born on November 20, 2001. 1 Lb. 6 oz. 15 weeks premature. He was born this early because of the drugs and alcohol that was being consumed by not only is mother, but also by me. I never attempted nor tried to stop her from doing them. As a matter of fact, I encouraged her to do more and we continued to do more and more every day. His diagnosis was that he would be a vegetable in that he would not be able to walk, talk, feed himself or even dress himself. I would have to do all these things for him.

On February 17th, 2002, I walked away from the lifestyle cold turkey. And ended up at the Open Door Mission in Houston Texas. Looking for a way out of my life. Then on February 22nd, 2002, I went to my knees and told Jesus that if he saved me tonight, I will serve you the rest of my life. If not, I am a dead man tomorrow. You see, Jacob never said a word to me about Jesus, but He led me to the foot of the Cross and to a personal relationship with Christ.

So, Jacob did what all us Veterans have done for over 200 years. From the Revolutionary War to the War on Terrorism. He signed a blank check in the amount payable up to death. Even our Veterans and active members of the Armed Forces have signed that check.

Jacob’s mission was complete on April 27th, 2002 when he returned to heaven totally and completely healed of all sickness and disease. His Grandpa, who is a retired Veteran pinned his Special Forces Insignia on Jacob’s chest and laid his green beret beside Jacob’s head before we closed the casket.  Therefore, I consider him a Veteran.

Our Mission here at Our Father’s Charity Auto Show is to Continue Jacob’s mission by helping Veteran Organizations and the Homeless Veterans when and wherever we can. We are Here not only to do this in a physical way, but also in a spiritual way.

Our Trophies

With our trophies, no two are alike. Each one is built with the auto parts that are given to us along with what we have in our shop. Having said that with each auto show that we put on, the trophies will be uniquely designed.

Vendors

We allow food, commercial and craft vendors at our shows. The vendor fees go toward the rental of the venue and other costs. The rest of the fees will go to the charity of the Auto Show.

We allow one vendor for the type of product they are selling. For example Metal Artwork, Classic Car Insurance, etc.
